How hot do you think the headers get? Over 2000 degrees F perhaps?

How hot do you think the headers get? Over 2000 degrees F perhaps?

Default i doubt it gets that hot. the EGT sensor is directly post turbo, right?

and it can't cool off that much between the header and the sensor . . .

Default (pre-turbo) :)..it's at the very end of the collection pipe of the manifold

right before it bolts to the turbo

so the temp is? Similar to EGT values perhaps?

sorry, i don't know the temperature of the manifolds. fwiw, egt's get up to around 1500-1600 deg F

Default thx. for some reason i thought i saw something about removing it

for doing a DP install. that may or may not be the case, but i assumed it was on the DP side of the turbo.

you know more about the car than me. based on your statement then EGT = header temp = ??. much less than 2000.

Default well, you can remove the passenger side EGT sensor to help

make moving the dp heat shield out of the way alot easier.

if someone made me guess, I'd say it would be less than 2000 based on those EGT's...

fwiw, T304 stainless melts at ~2600 degF

so a coating wouldn't really do any good if it's less protection than the material itself, no?
