I don't let the car idle when I start up. I get in and go but no boost typically below 3500 rpms

I'd like to hear the logic behind that.

Default It usually takes about 10 minutes for my car to reach 200 degrees. I usually drive

sanely for the last few miles of a journey as cool-down. At the track, though, I don't shut the engine off until the temps drop below 225.

You gotta cool your turbos bro (if you care about them, that is).

Default It's silly because if you leave your car sitting off, it gets hotter than it was when on...

I think it makes people feel better but I find that the warm up is important, cool down not so much. Next time on a hot day after the car is all warmed up. notice the temperature of the oil .. then turn it off and leave it for 10 minutes and come back and turn it on .. i bet the oil temp will be even higher. its a losing battle.

Default No, I've got an Oil Cooler so my oil doesn't get hot...

But if I ever run real hard and get my oil above 200, then cool my car down and then start it up 10 minutes later, my oil temp is definitely much lower, like barely over 150.

Ya know what I mean, a normal car without an oil cooler. It *will* be hotter on a hot day.

Default Don't cool your turbos, makes no difference to me...

but I personally wouldn't recommend that to anyone else.
