How long does synth. oil last in your car? Time wise, if within 5000 miles.

As long as I want. Last batch ran for 12K

the way my car leaks oil from every possible cam seal and valve cover I don't worry too much.

I don't pay attention to time - I just go by miles, but mine is a daily driver.

I'm pushing a 9000 mile interval now, with help from Blacksone analyses.

I thought overkill too, but whenever I get up to around 3k

I notice the car clearly doesnt run/idle as smooth as it should. As soon as I do an oil change, back to smooth and quiet.

Agreed. Oil analysis tells all. Seems like 8-10k is no prob. I go 5k or about 6mos.
