I am supposed tobe buying a car but the owner still hasnt gotten the title from the loan campany apparently. Its been two weeks, any idea how long this usually takes?

I think it took 3-4 weeks to get my title from the P.O.'s bank.

it only takes a couple days, they just notify the dmv and it gets switched over.

that depends....usually it is fast, but sometimes they can be pita slow

For me, it took over a month to get it from VW Credit after the loan was paid off....

If it was financed at a local institution, they will typically clear the funds and release the title quickly (less than a week).

If it's something like VW credit or other large financing institution, it can take somewhere around a month. They are slow to verify that the funds cleared, and then they have to submit a request for the title (stored off site managed by a 3rd party). Once they get it, they close out their paperwork and mail out the title.
