How long will airbags remain good? is there an expiration date on them?

Default How long will airbags remain good? is there an expiration date on them?

Just wodnering, especially since i plan to keep this car indefinatly...

Default actually, i think they are supposed to be replaced after something like 14 years IIRC, also

I seem to remember there being a sticker about that exact question, I think it is on the drivers door opening, like towards the bottom of the door jam on the pillar between the front and back door? maybe i'm halucinating that, but I seem to remember it saying that...check it out, otherwise I'll be back home from college in about an hour or two and I'll check!

Default I recall reading something about that, and I recall that the early airbags had a projected life that

was shorter than the current estimate. But, yes it was in the 15 yr ballpark.

Default you are correct. this is copied straight from audi:

Side airbag units have an expiration date (see sticker on B-pillar). If side airbag units are replaced, pull sticker with expiration date off new side airbag unit and place it over old sticker on B-pillar. Replace side airbag unit and sticker after 14 years.

In the beginning, everyone said 10 yrs; revised upward since, I think
