Default How much boost are you Stage III guys with KO4's running?

The car I picked up was running 22psi and I just turned it down to 19 for everyday driving. Just curious what everyone else is running, also Max?

I think 24psi on max boost but not sure.

Default OTS kits run right around 20 psi. Most MBC people run a little higher for more power...

be careful when playing around with the settings, though. Piggie sets those cars up pretty well at VAST. Since it's a homebrew car, if you turn down the boost with the MBC you will effectively be leaning out the AFR because your MAF values will be going down.

Default er, someone probably worked hard to homebrew tune that car with the previous boost setting

and now you just changed it. Why?

Default Sure it'll probably run a little leaner at lower boost, but its not going to be unsafe or anything

And it runs leaner at lower boost precisely because it *is* safe and can get away with a mixture closer to stoich. But I agree, it's just dumb to start messing with something that's already optimized by someone with a lot of experience.

Default I am having some clutch slippage issues and my tech buddy suggested turing down the boost a bit.....

to see how it holds. It was more of a trial and error to see how the car reacts.

I have a VAST Kevlar Clutch with LWFW and it is still slipping so that doesn't appear to be the issue.

I am not launching the car of being hard on it just trying to put the power down. Mainly slipping in 2nd-4th under max load. It seems to slip more when the car engine is hot, plus it has been in the mid 90's here. Also slipped a few times in 5th and 6th but much worse in the lower gears.

BTW is just picked this car up last Friday and drove 14 hours home. Worked great the entire trip then washed it, and ran out to get a pizza. Started slipping under boost and hasn't been the same since? Ideas?????

Thanks~

Default Ian brings up a good point...Homebrew takes a lot of work to get right..

even though the 24psi number scares me, it might have been tuned properly. You could have borrowed an ecu from someone for that test and ran a stock map.
