Default How much does a short shifter help shifter feel? (m)

Does it come close to the transmission in the BMW 330Ci? Please let me know. This is the last day I can "order" my S4 and the transmission is my main concern. Thanks for your help.

Default You can't polish a turd... but the UUC comes pretty close :)

much better than stock, but still not good (IMHO).

[take this with a grain of salt... I'm used to banging gears in a T-56 with a Hertz shifter.]

Default just my 2 cents...

the stock shifter has to be the worst shifter i have ever rowed through in my entire life. the 1st to 2nd shift has to be the worst out of all of em, again that is just my opinion...

any of the short shifter kits, are well worth it (i went with UUC), but all of them will provide the rowing experience much better and shorter, so i would HIGHLY consider getting one....

Default yes you can polish a turd. Kent had his shift linkage polished and damn, thats sweet! If I had his

tranny, I would not put a short shifter in it. It is soooo damn smooth.

Default is that the milled mount on the trans tunnel?

That's what I had planned on fabricating for the longest time, but have just been lazy, and lacking the spare time to get my grind on

Digging the silky smooth throws over the short throws.

Default I'm gonna slap you if you bastardize that by putting some notchy SS kit on it.

In fact, you don't deserve it, cause I know your gonna do it. Just can't leave it alone can you?

Default Hahaha... the peer pressure is intense...

but I think I will hold off on the SS for a while. Effortless shifting is good. Strange thing is I don't have the sloppiness I remember the stock shifter having. I can't explain it.
