how often should the G12 coolant be repalced?

Well, VW/Audi considers the G12 to be lifetime, but nowhere does it define how many miles = lifetime
I would change it everytime you change the timing belt at the very least. Based upon what I have read on AW, you will likely need either a water pump or a timing belt before the lifetime of your S4 is over (hopefully the car doesn't die prior to that).
