Default How to remove stripped bolt?

Follow-up from earlier post. I went and bought a bunch of torx sockets to remove the bolts to the bumper shocks so I could get at the snub mount. First one came out fine. The second one required a lot of torque, and finally the socket cammed out and slipped, destorying the female end of the torx bolt. Did the same thing to bolt #3, trashed the torx socket, and quit.

Question is: how do I get these bolts out now that the heads are stripped?

Thank you very much, this ordeal is turning into a real PITA.

grind the heads so they are square and use a pipe wrench/crescent wrench

The bolt-out set works wonders as well.

Default yes they do but i doubt they will do anything for that bolt....

they usually wont do anything for allen and torx bolts, since they are completely round on the outside.

Default I've tried the screw-out and drill out sets to no avail.

What's next?

Could I file down the outside of the bolt and try to use a bolt-out extractor? Would that work?

What's next after that? Welding torch?

The bolts are recessed - can't get a pipe wrench on them.

Default Do you think that is heavy duty enough? That bolt has some massive torque on it.

I put an extra 1ft. moment arm on the wrench, and it still wouldn't budge.
