Ok, don't just give stupid question boy his stupid answer and say "it makes the car sway less." I want to know what the reduced sway does to the car's handling. Does it reduce the need to fight the nose around corners? Does it make you turn in more quickly? You get the idea, so lay down your knowledge :-]

Of course it's really the only aftermarket upgrade I have done thus far
If you like the ride quality of the stock suspension, but wish it would lean less, not push so much in tight turns, and be less twitchy overall then get it. If you want to change the characterisitcs of the suspension more then that then you will need to modify other components also. I have the Neuspeed 19mm bar, currently set on soft, but soon will try it on the hard setting. I have not noticed ANY negative effects from the installation of the larger sway bar. The car is now extremely neutral, even in the rain and I have to wonder why from the factory the S4 did not come equipped with a thicker rear sway bar.

The point of having it in the back instead of the front is what makes it interesting.
Having a harder rear bar makes the rear tryes to handle more load then before. This makes power oversteer easier.

If you use the holes at the very end of the bar then it is the soft setting. If you use the holes closest to the bend of the bar then it is the hard setting. If you alternate, one side toward end of bar, one side toward the bend in the bar then it is set to medium. The biggest pain was getting the brackets installed.
