Default HRE/ S4 Questions

I posted this in the wheel and tire forum but I was hoping for a little more input so.....

*I am looking at buying a set of 17x8 HRE 540's (45 offset) and was wondering if anyone has pics of ANY 17" HRE's on their 00-02 S4's.
*Will the 45 offset create any rubbing issues on the inside? (the IMPORTANT Q- general insite welcome)
*Are there brake clearance issues?
*Do you need special lug bolts in order to mount them?

I tried to email HRE but haven't heard back from them.

PS- Thank you for your response Leslie.....

Robert

Go with 18's bro, don't stay with stock size, ask LosGatos4, he has HRE's.

Default I'd rather go 18's......

But the wife has a say in things too..... As she puts it, "aftermarket wheels are OK as long as they stay 17's".

My main worry is the offset.... is there anyone out there running 8" or greater width wise with a 45 offset.

Default I think you may have a problem with that offset and wheel width....

If you maintain the OEM offset of 45mm but increase the wheel width by ½" you *may* rub the suspension.... best to talk with HRE - on the phone - they know their stuff.

I doubt you'll have brake clearance issues, but again talk with HRE.

They won't need any special lugs, but depending on the offset, you may need longer lugs.

And, if you're gonna spend $$ on HRE's you should get at least 18" wheels IMHO.

Default Stock s4 is 17x7.5 et 45 so you may rub on inside. have someone measure clearance on stock.

and see if you can stuff another 1/4 back there
