Default Humming/vibration coming from rear of car...when I reach about 55-60 i start to notice a

vibration when I am off the throttle or just holding constant speed. Once I start accelerating, it goes away, but returns when I release the throttle. In gear, out of gear, clutch in or out, doesnt make a difference. I am also having a clunking sound every time I shift or lift the throttle. Anyone? TIA

Default that's what I was suspecting...how can I check to see? I've noticed before a sort of pulsing,

humming sound that pulses faster as I pick up speed, but now I just have a pretty good hum/vibration above 55...sound like a bearing?

Default Load up each side as you are driving..

ie., get up to speed, and turn the wheel back and forth. If it is in fact a wheel bearing, you'll hear it when that particular side is loaded and vice versa.

Default The humming is most likely wb's..

the clunking could be engine mounts or a myriad of other things...

clunking is likely rear diff mounts but could be tranny or engine mounts also.

jack up the car, if you can move the wheel side to side with your hands, it's the bearing
