The fine print (reposted)
From the AoA web site, (you'll find similar language in most brochures/advertisements):
"Note: Audi of America, Inc. believes the specifications in this site to be correct at the time of release. However, specifications, standard equipment, options and colors are subject to change without notice. Some equipment may be unavailable when your car is built. Please ask your dealer for advice concerning current availability of standard and optional equipment and verify that your car will include the equipment you ordered. "
Now, you may have a case with the Dealer, if they claimed that the particular vehicle you were buying had aluminum uprights. But with the above language, the avi of the movie on the website won't help you much in a lawsuit...
-Alex, Santorin/Silver, Conv, Cold, Bose, expected mid-may and probably with steel uprights

Yes you are correct. However with our consumer protection legislation their fine print will not...
help them much in this case. If it is for good reason then fine I will let it go. But I will not settle for misrep and then no explanation.
Also I should note my dealer is behind me on this one.

I wasn't talking about fine print, I was talking about product improvement
If they just did it because, I agree with you. But that may not be the case. You don't know why at this point, and it may be a good idea to have an official why before you start anything. Just because they are different doesn't mean someone is out to get you. Most companies reserve the right to improve their products.

Yes that is true thats why they just have draft docs. But it certainly sent them a wake up call...
If they fix it or explain the"improvement" then fine. If they are just pulling a fast one then we can have it adjudicated very quickly. Its a simple matter.
