That is how my went out, which is why I don't use them anymore. They don't tear, they just stretch.

mine popped off, stock clamp didnt compress it enough, sheared out the inner liner that locks it to

the TB. popped off continuously after that.

went back to stock with an MTM brace.

bought some $3 clamps from pepboys and they fit perfect......
