Default I feel dumb for asking this.... Electrical relay BT? EDL defeat discussion inside.

Ok so i need to have a relay that works in the opposite fashion of a standard relay. Basically an interupt. I know these exist but I have no idea what the name is to call around and find one.

I am going to hook two up to the lines on the underside of the ABS control module. i am tired of the standard edl defeat causing problems (ECM codes, no cruise control, eratic EDL pulsing, over heating of control module). then i could just flip my switch to supply 12v, it would interupt those lines and it would be just like when its unplugged. i dont want to depend on a relay being on to keep the lines connected under normal driving that way if something fails or a fuse pops the car wont loose abs on the road.

TIA

Default just get a 5-pin standard 30A/40A automotve relay. pin87A is N/C pin87 is N/O

Sounds like you want to connect to 30 and 87A. Those are connected (N/C = Normally Closed) when at rest, and then when you apply power and ground to 85&86, then the relay switchs to now connect 30 to 87 (instead of to 87A). Thus it makes a disconnection between 30 and 87A. Sounds like that's what you want.

Here's one in use in my headlights:

This is one of my favorite sites for Relays:

http://www.the12volt.com/relays/relays.asp</a

Default FYI - This will only disable the ABS/EDL... You'll need to key off/on to enable the ABS again.

Let me know if you want more info
