I got -- CYLINDER ONE MISFIRE
i hooked my car up to my friends vag. my ABS/BRAKE light is still flashing.
these codes came up:
18014 - Rough Road/Engine Torque Signal from ABS: Electrical Malfunction
16684 - Register/Activate - Intermittent
random cylinder misfire
16685 - Shareware Version.
cyl 1 misfire
i am currently thinking the misfires were caused because i ran 101 oct homebrew on my 91 oct APR chip.
as for the ABS?? i tried to go straight into the module, but it would not link up. i kept getting a retry screen. i was unable to clear my codes, because it required for the software to be registered... which it was not.
should i be able to clear them all w/ the right VAG software? any input would be greatly appreciated.... and yes i did STFA

Possibly not.
The Bosch ECU detects misfire with little microphone sensors in the block. If you're slip sliding around, it may mis-interpret other noise.
It's designed to turn off the misfire detection when wheel slip is detected. I know that happens on acceleration, and it may also happen on braking. But, if you light up the wheels (like a hole-shot redlight left turn which I've done exactly once), you may get some misfires before the ECU stops listening.
Since you have a "rough road" signal too, I bet that's the root cause. Fix that DTC 1st, before you worry about hte misfire code.
