Default i got rid of "gear-hunting" (sorta)

i read the post on vegas4 trying out the transmission adaptation via vag on uwe's site:

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/autotrans.html

it didn't work for me so i did a search and found a way to do it without the vag.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/218955.phtml

then after went out for a drive. i was hoping that it would totally get rid of the gear hunting. it did in a way. what happens now is that the car downshifts to 4th (from 5th) when i WOT at 55mph or greater and stays instead of crazily shifting from 5th to 4th and back to 5th which occured before the tranny adaptation.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/218955.phtml

Default This just went away on my car.....

at WOT 60 mph in 5th it would just stay in 5th, but I had my multifunction switch replaced and now its back downshifting to 4th upshifting to 5th back down to 4th, you know how it is.

try the tranny adaptation- the downshift is less annoying than the gear hunting.

Default Thats not the reason i reset it but mine "hunts" even with the tip chip, you are close to the....

power rating of the tranny. It does it less when you adapt it and seems to go away after the motortronic adapts afew thousand miles later. It still only does it in tip mode.
