Default are your downpipes hitting on it? possibly a loose heat shield?

here is a picture of mine after the install.

You did take off the metal pieces the DTS replaced... didn't you?

Default

Had that issue. Re-torqued with loctite red and all is well 6 months later.

Default I fully agree - his rattle is likely a result of the vibrations transmitted by the DTS

and not the DTS itself at all. Anything else directly attached to the frame that is even slightly loose or prone to resonance can easily be excited by the vibrations of the drivetrain's direct coupling to the frame. Most of us have at least one (or more) places in our cars that offer up intermittent rattles and noises when we hit rough pavement with our now aging cars. The DTS mod simply allows for another opportunity for these weaknesses to surface more frequently.

The design of the DTS makes it very unlikely that it will rattle at all if installed properly.

Default I would tend to agree with that statement. Launches are very hard on the drivetrain and the DTS

will tend to spread the shock over the whole frame of the car instead of just the rather soft motor mounts.

If hard launches are a part of your driving habits with an S4, I would think that the DTS upgrade would be very helpful and could save $$$ up the road fixing broken motor mounts.

Default Downpipe is hitting......

check the clearance between your downpipes and DTS. Also check the flex in your exhaust system

Default This is true of ANY performance enhancing mod.....

It is a fact, Performance, reliability and daily drivebility are at the 3 corners of a triangle and are a trade-off with each other. Any time you enhance the performance of your car, it will come at the cost of one or both of the other two factors.

Default I would factor cost into that triangle...

Of course, it would cease to be a triangle at that point, but your point still holds! :-)
