I jumped ship yesterday- traded in the S4 for an STi.

Let me just state that the STi is a MACHINE. I immediately felt at home with all of it's unique sounds, from gear whine to that flat four. This is exactly what I've been craving since I sold my 1998 Integra Type R 4 years ago.
If you are serious about the driving experience and have $30k to spend on a car, do not think twice. I have test driven the Lancer Evo and while it's steering is superior, it is in no way up to par with the STi, especially in power delivery. The STi can be described as having 'B5 S4' torque delivery, immediate and flat- just how it should be.
The first mile out of the dealership showroom(and YES, they opened the doors and let me literally drive it out of the showroom!) just awed me. I am very happy.
My S4 had 36,600 miles on it and performed flawlessly. This is in no way my last Audi, not by a long shot. I take pride in knowing that the STi transmission is of a collaborated effort with Porsche!
The irony of all this is that I went from one 'Newark favorite' to another. Needless to say, security upgrades are taking place tomorrow.
I will continue to browse the forum, drink out of my Audi coffee mug, and wear my Audi Sport windbreaker.

YGM regarding security!
i also have a good stereo install DIY at velozt.com.
i know what you're saying about the Integra. i loved my wife's GSR, and only thought it needed about 100 more horsepower to be a great track car.
what color combo did you get?

It's pretty sweet, and it still has a little more room as far as tuning goes, running fairly rich.
Went from 254/255 to 300whp and 309 wtq, the car really yanks.
