Default Why? It's your first event. With the stock chip and a boost leak, the car will be too much for you

to handle.

That's for sure. Car crashes can be ugly and very dangerous.

Default Going to high school for 1.5 hours a day: priceless.

I was saying that you don't need race gas because the car with stock power will be more than fast enough. Furthermore, even IF it had a boost leak (hence slower than stock), for your first time at the track, it would still be more than you could handle. Power isn't what you're going to need out there.

Default DOH! Reading comprehension ownz :p

Thanks for the advice I will be driving a faster car most of the time anyway, so it doesn't really matter. I'm sure it will be a blast. You will finally get a "DocSlowless" day on audiworld

Default Have fun, becareful with the 996. Quite frankly, I'd take the 348, you'll learn car control much

better than you will in a car that can mask your mistakes.

Default I completely 100% agree with you. However....

My brother took it last time and the brakes faded after only a few laps. Apparently, the 348 is extremely under-braked (has the same brakes as the 308 and 328). We aren't going to get it back on the track until we come up with a solution to that problem <wink wink>.

The DE consists of 4 20-25 min runs. I plan on driving my car run #1 and #3 and the 996 #2 and #4. I am very interested in comparing and contrasting the feel of two very different cars. I can't wait =D

Default Honestly, you'll be too busy trying to find the line to really be able to concentrate on the feel,

at least you should be. I say stick with one car. The last thing you want to do is throw one more variable into the mix when you're out on the track your first time. At least that's my rather nascent opinion.

I will consider it. But knowing me, I won't be able to pass on driving the p-car ;-)

Default Then drive it all day, the last thing you want is to be switching cars. I can't blame you for

wanting to drive it. Just make sure the steerig wheel actuator is adjusted to spec.
