Default I just ordered aquamist HFS-5:)

I just ordered the kit from one of my old Saab vendors.. George's Imports. Brad is a great guy and I've known him from the Saab forums for 10+ yrs. He runs 26 psi on his old '91 Saab 900T.

I've always wanted water injection but never got around to deciding on a kit. I would save money and buy a cheap kit like snow performance but I like the precise water flow control of Aquamist systems. If you inject too much water at the wrong time it can hurt performance and empties the water reservoir faster.

I bought the HFS-5 kit with two each of 0.5, 0.6, & 0.7mm nozzles to start with. Brad says he will work with me on the nozzles if there's a problem. The Aquamist engineer, Richard, says you need 2-2.5x the flow rate with methanol to maintain the same cooling effect of water. Sizing the nozzles toward the upper range for straight water should keep the flow rate in the range it needs to be when running methanol mix. I'll probably run straight water until winter.

I'm very interested to see if water injection steam cleans the carbon build up from the engine internals enough to make a difference when the injection is turned off. Heavy carbon buildup can cause the engine to knock earlier than usual, which may be the case with my 80k mile engine.

I may have other unknown engine problems but I need a good WI system regardless. Now that I have EPL's fueling kit, I'll probably be back up there for some tuning with WI.. assuming I can get my engine fixed 100%.

http://www.kcsaab.com/index.asp

Default I've had other engine issues so I can't say much

I had a weird dip in torque on the dyno and eventually had to replace one of the $600 cam adjusters. Now I could swear I have a slight miss at WOT. I replaced the plugs just prior to going to EPL. I'll probably end up replacing all six coil boots and both ignition amps.

I hate to give the guys at EPL bad publicity with my car not running quite right. They do great tuning and can extract hp but they can only work with what you bring them and the ambient conditions.

I should've gone through everything with a fine tooth comb and installed WI before going up there for tuning in 90+F weather. It's not that bad because I can always have another tune done as needed.. now that I'm running their fueling kit.

Default want to clean your engine

use toluene. Helping a friend with an engine rebuild on a 300z he uses toluene every day for his car. The pistons were shine, car had 160k miles.

So why do you just wanna use water now? Isn't methanol really good for knock and to help combustion?
What kind intake temps do you see now?
where do you plan to inject?

Default Doubt toluene cleans - he prob. drives the crap out of it

That will do it. Toluene actually contains a higher ratio of carbon to hydrogen (it is an aromatic hydrocarbon)and will run richer (use up more oxygen) than gasoline (an aliphatic hydrocarbon) at WOT.

Default I don't drive like a granny but don't get tickets either:)

My drive to work is 10-12 miles of 30-45mph zones with quite a few stoplights. I'm sure that isn't great for the engine.
