I was just quoted $3500 for insurance on the S4. This sounds unreasonable.

What state you live in, what company you're insured with, where car is garaged, driving record, coverage limits and deductibles, age, sex, and usage to name a few. Also, what discounts you qualify for such as accident free, multi-car, multi-product, and credit score.
Yesterday I heard a quote for about $11,000. This was for a Ford ZX3 principally driven by an 18 year old with a clean driving record and car garaged in Detroit.
I'm a 26 yo male living in an average risk (I'm guessing at the average risk part, could be above average) suburb of Detroit, insure 1 car, clean driving record, no accident history, full coverage ($500 Broad form Collision, $100 Comprehensive) paying about $2200 annually with Farm Bureau. I could pay about $1500 per year with State Farm, but according to State Farm, I drive an A4. I left State Farm because if I were to total my S4, I want the claim settlement to be for an S4 not an A4. I could also pay about $1800 per year with another company, but I would rather not get into that.<p>Brett Gissel

Tell me that isn't true ;-)
I thought this while I passed a beautiful but mangled Estoril M3 across the street from work today. It's been sitting there for a couple days now at the body shop. I want to buy it.
