I love HRE wheels. Why are they so Da** expensive? Any other manufacturers make comparable wheels?

hre's wheels are made from the same "blanks" as about a half dozen other manufacturers
compare HRE's wheels to "kinesis"
and know that their factories are about 5 mins. from each others in San diego.
decide for yourself.

Ah, permit me my good fellow...
... accoridng to www.kinesismotorsport.com, they have both forged and cast versions. There forged are as expensive as the HRE, for I called several months ago before deciding on the BBS RC.

That's what I thought...
I don't think many companies sell true-forged wheels for much less than the prices of HRE/Fikse/etc. If you just want a heavy/strong or light/weak wheel with a nice design, it makes sense to opt for the cast wheels. However, if you are concerned about both weight and strength, forged wheels are the way to go.

I yet to find any wheel manufacturer with wheels designed like those in the HRE 540 Series. BTW, ..
Your wheels look great on your car. Don't you track your car? Do you have installed a big brake kit? I love the BBS RC series wheels( my favs other than HRE's ;-), but I have heard they will not work with big brake kits. Enlighten me.
