Default I need some help/recommendations on brake pads and rotors. I'm buying for my son...

... (who's in the Army) and shipping overseas.

Car's a 2000 S4. Only doing the front brakes. He is in Germany and the car is not really set up or used for serious performance driving. No tracking or autocross. Low dust would be a plus on the pads.

Now considering:

Brembo rotors @ $144/ea via Tirerack

GranSport 6 pads @ $120/set via Tirerack

Purchase will need to be made at Tirerack or other supplier who will ship to APO addresses (many won't). I've already bought and shipped tires to him via Tirerack and all went very smoothly. (Thanks, Luke!)

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or assistance.

Gratuitous S4 photo taken outside CPT (Chicago)...

Default Is the car in Germany or are you shipping to a base state-side for his return? Stock is fine if he's

Not tracking and cheaper. Call the guys at VASTperformance.com or Avalonmotorsports.com, they should be able to get you stock replacements for cheaper then the stuff on T/R. Explain your situation and see if they will ship. If he's going to have to leave the car when his deployments up, there is little reason to go all out. I like stock rotors and PAGID Black pad.

Default DBA Slotted rotors, Stoptechs have gone down in quality. I run Carbotech Bobcat pads and love em!!!

Very very low dust, no sqeaking/squelling. Though many on the board like Hawk pads, I have had HORRIBLE TERRIBLE experiences w/ them.....if your son doesn't mind a concert everytime he breaks, than the Hawk HP+ would be a great pad for him....if he likes quietness when breaking, stick w/ either Pagid blue/blacks or Carbotech Bobcats

And that Imola sedan is an abortion w/ that wing!

Default 3rd...I'm running DBA slotted w/ Hawk HPS and love the setup. The Hawk Performance Ceramic pads may

have less dust but I don't know and would suggest just going w/ HPS since they are better and seem to have less dust than stock....

Does this setup eliminate "brake judder" which I've experienced quite a bit on stock brakes/pads?
