Default I want someinput about the VM1 exhaust and how it sounds after a few thousand miles

Since I am installing the VM2 resonated exhaust next week, I just want to know how does the VM1 sound after a few thousand miles on it? Is it quieter?
I don't want to be disappointed next week, when I find that the exhaust is too loud and won't mellow out as it breaks in.

Rough estimate after 4K miles - 30% quieter - Sounds great now, alittle too loud at first.

Default My VM1 had certainly mellowed some over the past 2000 miles

I haven't heard the VM2 but after 500-1000 miles it will quiet down a bit. At first I wasn't too happy with the loudness of the new VM1, but now I can't get enough. The sound is so awesome!

If you're worried about the car being too loud, try to find someone who has an aftermarket system on their S4. I know it may be a bit hard to in your area or whatever...good luck

Default the Vm1 sounds oh so sweet after you put some miles on it

it seems that the VM2 is a bit loud also in the beginnings, i'm sure it will go super quiet after a some mileage<p>-C

I don't see how an exhaust mellows out, I do see how your ears go bad!

Default Muffler packing moves around, sound will change. Or you just get used to it.

Default I had a Borla once, it was so bad I had to wear earplugs, finally I threw it off a cliff.

Loud exhausts are a thing of my past, the S4 should have a refined sound, quiet at idle yet a bit of authority under throttle. The stock exhaust with a chip actually is pretty throaty.
