Default You only need to buy one to cover the car...

99.9% of the time they tag people from the front, and 1 Lidatek unit will cover the front of the A4/S4.

I just checked and eBay has a few options, passport X50 is also a great alternative.

Default Little snag with my V1. I have owned one for years and still love it but this scenario can happen...

to any laser detector. Two times in the last month while driving on the highway my laser tone starts sounding for 5 sec then stops for 10 sec then continues to repeat the cycle. Behind me is the new Infinity suv, both times. It appears they use a laser system in there cruise control. I call valentine and they tell me they are aware of the problem just like the third break light on new GM's? They are on the same signal range as police radar. So until further notice be prepared for potential false signals on Laser.

Default I turned off the laser detection on my V1

Infinity SUV's, Trailblazer third brake lights, red neon from the Krispy Kreme "HOT NOW" sign! It was drive'n me nuts. Wouldn't be so bad if the audible laser indication didn't go BAT **** when it went off and were more like the radar alerts.

How to reprogram your V1

Default Call them up and ask them for a refurbished unit. That's what I got. The discount wasn't huge (~$50

off), but it was still something. And it comes with a full warranty.

Default I would not do this, nor would I recommend it.

Unless you know laser isn't being used in your area, turning it off may just lead to a ticket. And laser is being used increasingly in many areas. Years ago, it's use was limited, and either they used it or they didn't. These days local police departments and state police are buying laser guns as quickly as they can pay for them (and in some cases insurance companies are happy to help pay the tab). Turning it off probably isn't the wisest course of action.
