Ideas guys? Strange repetitive 'squeak' like noise from near the exhaust yesterday...
Got home from work last night, grabbed the mail from the mailbox, was about to step back into the car (engine on & idling), when heard a low volume, but definitely strange, "squeak, squeak, squeak,..." from rear of car.
Got down behind & peered up, definite squeak at a consistent/repetitive frequency (a bit under a second per squeak), from the vicinity of the muffler. Couldn't isolate it before it stopped, of course.
Only thing I can think of is a small leak from somewhere in the exhaust system? But why a squeak-like noise? Should I swab it up w/ soap/bubble solution & see if I can find it?
This morning heard it again... Any ideas?
Installing the Forge-Milltek this weekend anyhow, but if it's something other than the exhaust, might want the dealer to check it out first. Wouldn't want any more excuses for warranty voidance.
TIA

hmm... could be, any recommendations on potential...
joints to look at to try & isolate? There are obviously a ton of metal to metal, or metal to rubber joints. Strangely, it was a relatively quiet high-pitched squeak, kinda like air escaping from a hole. I'll try and get under the car again while it's running this pm.
Thx for the suggestions...
BTW, funny dog sig, almost missed it. : P

are you suspecting actual exhaust flange connections or the mounts?
I guess I would start with the actual component connections since metal-to-metal is probably more likely to make squeeks.
i am assuming the S4 mounts all connect to the frame or undercarriage with rubber mounts or grommets.
unfortunately it sounds like you're going to have to get under her and scope it all out with a good flashlight.
