If Audi took an in house tuner... who would be appropriate?

Could just be that their Risk Management advises against it
Not sure if it's the right stance, but one can clearly understand their (his) point of view. The potential extra cost may put some models out of the target price and cost them sales.

Seriously though, I don't think any of those tuners are actually warrantied through the dealer/mfg. Some may be overseas, but as mentioned below, they have a significantly shorter warranty period overseas. I think it's one year in Europe.

We dont have them here really but Hohenester is my choice....
