but if they did such a thing why wouldn't MTM just create their own NA subsidiary. Why even mess around with dealing with Hoppen.

I would rather have Audi engineers do the work. Then they can package it however they like.

Default Could just be that their Risk Management advises against it

Not sure if it's the right stance, but one can clearly understand their (his) point of view. The potential extra cost may put some models out of the target price and cost them sales.

Default the factory warantees are shorter overseas

from what I understand, so there's less risk. American consumer market demands a long warranty period.

Seriously though, I don't think any of those tuners are actually warrantied through the dealer/mfg. Some may be overseas, but as mentioned below, they have a significantly shorter warranty period overseas. I think it's one year in Europe.
