No way. 75% of us have the CEL light on for one reason or another. Gotta be bad off to be in limp.

Hmm. My CEL is due to an O2 sensor and car definitely runs worse with it on.

Default That I know. But my question is whether or not the CEL for this would put my car in limp mode.

When the CEL goes away, the car runs better.

What code do you have? Is it intermittent or on all the time?

Default At worst that would put you in partial limp mode, not full limp mode. I have been getting that one

for a year and a half or so along with warm-up catalyst below threshold.

Default Limp mode = ~4psi (or less) boost on K03s. How much boost you getting?

Limp mode on K04s was around 6 psi for me...depends on WG spring pressure.

If you have no boost ur limp.

The symptoms of a bad O2 is poor A/F mixture @ part throttle & idle. Fuel trims will be all wacky. This could be why it isn't running right. Clearing the code resets fuel trims which might help smooth things for a short while.
