Default If I don't intend on boosting over 21lbs... do I need a TCD?

If I peg my setup to peak at 1.4 bar I shouldn't run into any Throttle Cut issues right?

TIA

Default I think you'll be fine up to 2 bar with no TCD - be sure to report back how that goes.

:-P

In all seriousness, you will probably need a TCD running that boost on GIAC X.

Default huh?

isn't the whole purpose of a MBC.. set up stand alone, to limit the amount of boost? Wouldn't matter what chip you were running right? set the boost level and it shouldn't go past that level.

hmmmmmm

Default You'll most likely need a TCD

MBC only ramps up boost quicker than with parallel. The throttle cut occurs when the ECU detects excessive deviation between actual and requested boost, which is why we asked about software. Different files have different boost curves. GIAC-X on A box is one of the more aggressive setups, but you *may* find that the inital ramp-up of mbc only may cause TC.

Default haven't experienced throttle cut yet.

Althought I do understand your point on the delta between requested and actual.

Will keep a close eye on it and see how it goes.

Thx
