Default yes, there IS a code...

which is thrown when the ECU is unplugged. This can be cleared with the VAG tool.

Default from what i've heard, it's possible...

i think under certain conditions, swapping the ecu will produce diagnostic codes. however, (a) i've swapped my ecu many times and never seen any such codes and (b) it would be trivial to clear them with vagcom or vwtool.

Default they're smart enough to know it was a chip...

and you should DEFINITELY use a VAG tool. You can also find a tuner or buddy with one, it only takes a few seconds to clear it.

Default ALOT of those techs read AudiWorld...

I've actually had techs mention my posts (this guy NASA racer said...) not realizing they were talking to ME in real life!

Don't assume the dealer service personnel are a bunch of morons. They don't want to know if you're chipped and if you allow them to find out, they are sort of stuck because they have to get warranty repairs approved by AoA and THEY are going to check.

Keep it simple folks, do NOT take a chipped car (or one with the low voltage error) into a dealership.

Yep, I've talked to reps who are familiar with AW too. Often the best way to deal with a situation is the common sense one.

They'll see the +B voltage code and readiness codes will not have passed if your drive is short.
