If you add a oil cooler is there any reason not to have oil going through it at all times? TIA

Default Yes. You will want to install a thermostat so that oil does NOT always go through the cooler.

If you have oil going through the cooler at all times, the oil won't heat up to operating temperatures as quickly as it should.

Default I've heard around 215-220. You probably want the oil temp above the boiling point of water, but not

much higher than that.

The RS4 thermostat works at 175F from what I can tell.

Default It varies a bit. But I've seen it from 175-210 based on how cold it is out.

I've gone to 230 on track days...that's it.

Default you could...and bypass the oil cooler. You can also get a hotter thermostat too.

But to be honest, the RS4 oil thermostat is the expensive part...and you might as well spend the extra 30% onthe whole kit.

Default On very cold days (under 40F, rare in Florida) It would never go higher than 175. No matter how hard

I tried.

From that I pretty much concluded it opens at 175F.
