Default if you gut out the secondary cats on the stock downpipes does it affect flow?

my buddy is looking to get a set of "piggie pipes" but I am wondering if it is better to hollow out the secondary cats or just cut and weld in a new straight piece.

TIA

Default thats what a "test" pipe is and yes it'll should help free up some powah. More free flow obviously

but you'll get a CEL

Default he is talking about leaving the precats in ..so no codes..

but the flow is choked up there after the turbo. it will help a bit though.

i think he meant cut out the cat altogether and weld in straight pipe where secondary was.

Default correct .. the secondary 02 sensors read the efficiency of the precats .. so if

if the seconadry cats will be cut off it will not matter in sense of codes.. the performance though would not be as good as a gutted precat .
see he mentioned "stock dp's " not "piggies).

Default some people call the pre-cats "secondaries" since they aren't the main cat

especially when they say "on the downpipes". so where you are correct i still think he wants to weld in a straight pipe where the pre-cats go instead of piggie-fying the DPs

Default Don't think it will do much. The primaries are the restriction... the secondaries

have like 2x+ the surface area flow-wise vs the primaries.
