Default I'm getting an annoying rattle from the passenger feet/glove box area...

it's a very faint rattle.. at first I thought it was the stuff in the box, but that is not the case. I can't tell precisely where it's coming from but it's bugging me to no end. anyone else had a similar issue?

Default yep...it's probably closer to your center console than you think...a search may turn something up...

some of us think it's related to the HVAC or blower or something

Default its a common problem. stick a penny in the corner of the glove box and that will stop it.

its ghetto, i know.
you can also get a small rubber stop and stick it on the underside of the trim. it does the same thing as the penny, but not as noticeable.

Default My glovebox used to rattle...

I put some felt tape (the fabric side of some velcro) along the edge of the glovebox and where the two rubber stoppers hit the dash. The rattling seems to have stopped.

Now if only I can stop my windows and passenger seat from rattling...

Default

Mention it to the dealer, and they'll replace the glovebox - it's a common rattle.

Default have same rattle

mine doesn't sounds like a rattle, but more like a tick tick noise, drives me crazy, i can still hear it with stereo on, but when i open the glove box, it's gone.
i still can't locate where the noises came from.

Default Another rattle 1-2 min

Hello,

I have a 2001.5 S4 6sp and when I start it there is a faint rattle for 1-2 minutes that then fade away. It sounds very much like the fan, however the rattle is there even if the fan is off and the rattle is ondependent of fan speed if the fan is on.... Any insight?
