And HKS's 3037 kit is out NOW and we can do 550whp on race gas.

Yeah, for power now, and probably max power, go with the Evo.
I just think the STi's are going to get a lot faster than people think. Time will tell how solid the 2.5 block is though. "Tuners" need to start blowing some motors!
