Default I'm repairing my 6 speed trans and was hoping to get some help from EKTA folks.

I tore up my second gear slider by shifting abusively at the dragstrip and now I need the parts numbers for item #s 15,16 and 20 in the diagram.
I'm documenting the rebuild with pics and will post a writeup later.

Default best of luck man........but it's not going to be cheap

i found that it was MUCH cheaper just to find a used tranny than to rebuild mine. I think i was quoted around 2K just for parts, and that's how much i paid for an entire used unit.

Default you'll want to confirm this...

...as that picture and parts catalog are reversed.

15 --> 01E 311 271 B
Change Gearr
2.Gear Z=34/18

16 --> 012 311 247 F or H
also use: 01E 311 239 L
Synchronizer Ring
2.Gear

20 --> if it's a bearing 01E 311 207
Needle Cage
47.5x52.5x32.9

20 --> if it's a synchro ring use same part number(s) as 16 but for 1.Gear

Default ^ listen to this advice...

unless you are changing ratio's, then best bet is to just buy a tranny. Used tranny for 2 to 3k, parts for 3 gears will be close to 3k, and not include the labor of the tranny rebuild.

Default that diagram isnt from etka...

so I'm guessing here.

15 might be a 01e-311-271-b (2nd gear 34/18) $622 list

16 might be a 012-311-247-f (synchronizer ring 2.gear) $67 list

20 I cant tell... I need a description... if it sa 1/2 gear synchro hub then its a 01e-311-239-H and lists for $717

I'd want to check an ekta diagram by vin to be certain before I order anything.

Default my A4 is on gearbox no 2

mind you audi charges out the *** for gearbox parts... if you are a ZF or getrag service shop you can probably get the parts cheaply enough to make it sensible to repair the box.

Default WOA!!!!!. Pricey! I guess I'm going to get out my file and "fix" it a la Istook.

I'll spring for a synchro and gasket though.
Thanks a lot :-)

Default Labor is free here. And I'm not "rebuilding". No problems with this trans except the 2nd gear slider

The parts I need are still cheaper than a used replacement.

Where is the best place to find used trannys? Salvage yards? I don't know how that works.
