Default Labor helps, but also my views on manual trans repair help too.

I don't just go in and replace all friction surfaces (synchros) on a trans. The ONLY complaint I have is the second gear slider and that will be the only part of the trans I will be working on. It looks like now the only parts I will be replacing are the bearing housing gasket and the 2nd gear synchro ($67.00). The other two parts can be repaired to my satisfaction.

Default i'm sure they just replace the bad parts with new parts...

...but we're talking about instead of rebuilding or servicing a tranny, to just replace it with another used one. No guaruntee how long it will last, or if it will be problem free, but the labor is less then rebuilding it.

Default *Update* I fixed it with my grinder.

I'm not going to replace any parts now. The slider works very smoothly, and I don't have to replace the brass synchro. It has a moly coating that looks like well... **** and gives one the impression of galled metal, but that is the way it's supposed to look.
I will take some more pics and make a writeup later, but I don't recommend anyone do this unless you have manual trans repair experience and major cojones to boot.
Again, thanks to everyone who has helped so far.
