Default Installed hood pins on my car today

First off let me say that I have never had an issue with my Fiber Images hood. HOWEVER, everytime I go into triple digits I get a little nervous because of some of the pics I've seen on here lately of smashed in front windshields. And at those speeds I should be concentrating on the road ahead and not on my hood!

Anyways, I'm not a fan of how they look. They are gonna take some gettin used to!! :/ I guess a little loss of the "clean" look of my car is worth it for the added safety. I do like the black though, they look a lot better than chrome hood pins imho).

They are Sparco hood pins which were powdercoated black.

Whatya think.

And yes Vorsicht, I do have a set on order for you.

Default I think they are a good idea, how come no one works on a better design though?

Would it be possible to attach such a unit to the underside of the hood via some super-epoxy or something? And then basically have them attached to something that has some slack so the hood can be opened normally, and then you can undo said pins...

That way the hood might fly up, but only like 5 inches, and you would notice and pull over. No loss of aesthetics, but with a little more peace of mind.

Default looks like your car has nipples

not bad, I'd consider matching them to the red on your car tho. Definitely was a good thing to do however.

Default Can you please tell a brother how you got the paint...

to stick to your grill surround. I have painted mine twice now. Just black. I even called you guys to find out how you have done it but you haven't called back. Don't blame you as you don't make money on giving me free advice, but hell everybody wants free financial advice from me. If I have a good year this year I will need stage III stuff and you would be the place if you at least give a brother a bone. Thanks

StonGard covered it with their material for me. It's been 3 years and haven't had one chip yet!

Default The forces put on a hood at 100+mph even at 5" open would rip whatever you put there apart

Yes, there is room for improvement in designs, but this is one of the cleaner way of doing this with what is currently on the market.
