Intake upgrade does the trick
FunkWeasel, Bauer, Paul, Big Bird, remember my mentioning that I owned an X-1 Racer intake setup, but didn't bring it with me to Sears so as not to add another level of complexity to my new setup? I really wish I had now. Just installed it tonight, and the result is a driveable car. No more throttle off hesitation, poor idle, or any of that crap I had to deal with while at the track. Damn.
I can still detect a little something amiss as I drove around, but had I installed it, I would have at least been able to lap my car. So stupid. Anyway, my flow straightener goes in tomorrow to fix that last little bit, and lemmi will take care of the rest. I will post more when it's done.

but I did need an intake...
which meant it couldn't have run right with the stock airbox. Wish I had known that. You mentioned that file is weak??? So let's get it out of there and put a proper file in...

and it definitely sucks that you didn't bring it to the track... lol, figures :P

I will know today for certain.
I don't plan on paying too much for it... I may still give you a call if an attempt is made on my bunghole. I do know that I won't run without it, regardless of whether I'm running an open element filter or not. Thanks again for the offer.
