Default Interesting RS4 clutch statements->

Odd I recall people suggesting the rs4 clutch disc was the same part # as the S4? Who is correct here?

Default Odd....

Who wrote this?
"We recently had the opportunity to put some controversy to rest. We pulled apart an Audi S4 and RS4 clutch cover to see if there were any differences. There were absolutely NONE! The only difference in the RS4 kit is the more aggressive organic clutch disc."

There were absolutlely NONE, but the RS4 had a more aggressive organic clutch disc. Brilliant.

Default When I was doing my research on clutches, I was told the RS4 has the same disc with a stronger ...

pressure plate. I forgot who told me that, one of the shops I talked to, maybe Mark@autospeed?

Default That's what has been "common knowlege", but they are saying exactly the opposite. I haven't

measured the fulcrum distances, and they suggest that they have. I'd like to have direct confirmation. Either they're lying(and so I would avoid them for clutches) or we're mistaken on the RS4 clutch.

It would seem kinda pointless to upgrade the disc but not the plate. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Default Well you could go with a higher mu material, or smaller clamping area, but in general yeah.

Their suggestion struck me funny, but I guess you never really know until you measure it yourself.
