Intermittent power (?boost loss) - need help.

Have H- box AMS, has been great, other mods in my sig. Over the past 2-3 months I have noticed intermittent loss of power, which I assume to be boost loss. Usually I notice the loss when I step on it, usually somewhere around 3000 rpm.
Does not happen every time out, no relation to weather/temperature. I get good old east coast (sorry CA folks) 93 octane from the same dealer everytime, so I do not think bad gass is likely.
Can a boost leak be noticeable some days but not others? Can this be a bpv malfunction? This weekend I will finally get a chnace to check tbb, f-hose, and bpv's. Anything else to check for the non-VAG-equipped?
Any help appreciated.

VAg the car and check for codes. You could be throwing a code that will lead you to the exact cause.
Also, make sure you completely remove the TBB when checking it and look UNDER all of the clamps. They often tear under the clamps and you would never see it without the TBB being off the car with all clamps removed.
Unfortunately, my experience with the f-hose is the same. You need to take it off and physically look at it. This is sort of a PITA but worth doing.
I would not take off the TBB or F-hose unless you have a back-up to install if they're broken or another car to drive while you wait for a replacement to come.
