I've had this problem for quite some time and it's bugging me. Cruise control works fine except when I try to use the resume/accel position. That will usually cause the cruise to stop working all together. If I turn the car off and on again, it'll work fine again. Any one else have this problem? No codes thrown that I can see with VAG. Bad ECU? Bad switch?

It's the cruise control switch. Replaced at dealer easy.

I had that for 2-3 months... The cruise would work back after turning off the car.
VAG-COM would show a DTC : "Cruse Control Signal : Intermittent"...
I did unplug the ECU, plugged it back, recoded (re-enable) the cruise control and cleared the DTC with VAG-COM.
Cruise now works perfectly. Problem never came back.

Some have mentioned the cruise control stalk (stock, stick?). Others have mentioned that it might be the switch that disengages the cruise when the clutch is depressed. I haven't had the problem since I read about the clutch thing, but it's a thought. If you get the problem, try pressing in the clutch and moving it side to side. Who knows, it may work.

If cruise is engaged and I slide the switch to "accel" it will disable cruise. I've tried turning off cruise control, shifting, brakes, nothing will restore cruise until I turn the car off and then on again.

Replacing the CC switch fixed it for a few thousand miles, then it broke again. Usually either only set or resume wouldn't work, but all other functionality did work (so it wasn't a clutch switch or something else defeating all the CC functionality). (Happened with stock ECU, too). I will buy the 10-pack of CC switches at some point.

horizontal lines randomly once was at the bottom of the top rectangle, once was in the middle, but fortuneately they all came back by them self. and this is a problem seen by others too.
oh and turn signal getting stuck is another common one.
i think my next car is going to be a non-audi... sad but true..
