Default The itch is too much. What is your recommended mod (more inside)
Been trying to stay stock, but no longer. Car already has Milltek exhaust and is lowered. Other than than, wholly stock.

What mod do you recommend in the $500-$1000 price range?

Chip or suspension. I would do a chip personally.

Default Lowered? As in springs or full suspension? If full suspension then I'd recommend
going with a chip. APR and GIAC are the most popular. If its just on lowering springs I'd recommend getting a full setup, either sport springs and matching struts, or coilovers.

Big 2nd - chipping should include upgraded DVs and TBB IMO.
