It's official: I suck at the 1/4 mile!
Just got back. Made three passes.
First run:
It was my first run with this setup/clutch/etc so I took it kinda easy. I thought I would be able to run a lot more than I did so I viewed it more as a practice/warm up run. It actually turned out to be my best run. Go figure?

I launched WAY TOO HARD (read: 5K) and spun completely through first gear and had to shift into second before I even got to the TREE!! :/ LAME (I told you I suck)

3rd and final run of the day:
This run felt a bit better. However I ground the 1-2 shift pretty bad. (I think I need to perform the Istook detent mod to my tranny as this keeps happening more and more often). Maybe I'll rebuild it with RS4 3rd gearing hmmm

Temps varied from 50-60ish.
Track is at 500ft?
I was on S03s (I should have run my hoosiers)
I was running 100oct on the standard pump gas AMS Stage 6 chip.
4 wheel burnouts, although relatively useless, are pretty damn fun! I'll post vids later once I get them from my friend.
I think my car is easily capable of MUCH fast times. My race tires alone probably would have given me a few tenths. This is only my 3rd time EVER taking the car to the drags and I just don't have enough experience to get good times. I certainly have a ton of respect for people like MarkP, Blitz, KaosAZ, Simmply, Ari, S4wannaB, etc... who all seem to have excellent skills at the 1/4. It's not as easy as it looks and it will probably take me a long time to get near their skill levels.
I'll scan in my timeslips in a bit.

I feel your pain...
I'm too ashamed to post my times, but it WAS my first time running the 1/4 mile ever. *blush*
I only got two runs in today and the second run was 14.15 secs. I was so nervous that I forgot to turn that ESP crap off!
I'm sure the car is capable of more if I could just get a good lauch.
BTW, you owe me for that hot dog and soda!
