I've just come to the sad realization that my PC's speakers sound worlds better than our Bose setup.

Default I've just come to the sad realization that my PC's speakers sound worlds better than our Bose setup.

And they're nothing special- just a 4.1 set from Creative that's about 3 years old paired with a SB Live! card from 1998. It's pretty sad, actually.

Looks like it's time to start researching my options.

Default They won't sound quite as good with some road noise and stuck inside a metal car frame.

Check it out.

Default i've had bose setup in several cars...worse ones were in my pathfinder, next would

be the s4 and the best sounding stock bose system was probably in my SS camero waaayyyy back in 95.

Default 2nd. I spent thousands on nice car audio components to have them sound like ****

it actually takes a lot of work to get a good sounding system in a car. I'm not defending the bose setup by any means here, just saying home audio & car audio are somewhat apples & oranges.

Default LoL i run Bose systems on both my PC and Tv in my bedroom

For my PC i Run Bose companion 3 Multimedia's and for my 42" lcd grand wega i use the Bose CineMate Digital Home Theater Speaker System

I agree the S4 Bose system isn't the best car audio but its far from the worst....i cant complain i guess

If it bother's you that much and your planning on keeping the car for a long time..upgrade them

Default Maybe I was spoiled by the Monsoon system in the VW with a Kenwood HU.

There's a whole range of sound that the Bose isn't covering. It makes some songs sound like there's a hole somewhere in the middle. Audi could have done much better.

Sure is purdy! I think I'd start with speakers and amp then work my way up to the RNS-E.
