S4 / RS4 (B5 Platform) Discussion Discussion forum for the B5 Audi S4 & RS4 produced from 1998-2002

I've read somewhere that putting on a turbo timer is a waste of money because S4 has the after-run

Default Update: It WORKED!!!!

A big thanks goes to Modified A4!

From some reason the o-ring that ETKA lists isn't correct....it's too big. I would suggest trying this o-ring: N 903 168 02

I took it out for a spin and it worked great, came on as it should. I'm not sure the thermoswitch operates exactly how I thought; but I know it closes above 93C, so it works really well for what is needed.

The thermo-switch I pulled out was:
078 919 369

I checked and this sensor was superceaded by:
357 919 369F.

Thanks again to Modified A4 for finding the part number and everyone else for making me look more into this.

More info...

VR6's do tend to run hot, especially in Corrados.
