Hi -
It's my first time posting and glad to join in the group.
I'm going to upgrade the audio system for my 2001 S4. I'm currently looking at JL Audio XR525 components (front), JL XR525 coax rear, JL 10w3 Sub and the new JL 500/5 amp. Can anyone provide any feedback on the JL stuff?
Thanks - David

Here's why. It CAN NOT handle transients well. I've been talking to JL Audio engineers about this problem with the amp for a month now. The problem is that the amp is just simply too overprotected. If it senses voltage fluctuations, it shuts the amp down a notch, causing clipping which can be reproduced with some subs. The result is sloppy unaccurate bass reproduction during heavy transients. I would suggest looking at the new Kicker Monoblocks to power the subs..those are VERY nice amplifiers.
