JP Engineering or AWE Tuning's Downpipes?

Also, I hear the O2 sensor placement might be slightly different? Someone said they had issues with the AWE DP's, but that might have been user error, I don't know... Todd/Someone from AWE want to clear that point up?
Anyway...
the JP Eng ones use a "normal" mesh type flex joint, whereas the AWE ones have a ball-and-socket joint that allows you to remove the main cats and put in test pipes.
Both are 3" tapered to 2.5" where the precats used to be.
RyanS4 had a post about the differences somewhere... hopefully he'll reply to this post and give you the URL![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

sensors - they have instructions that talk about where the second 02 sensor is and how to make it work - its really straight forward.

Not all downpipes currently on the market fit correctly.
Basically, every S4 downpipe design on the market is handbuilt.
The complexity of the jigs ensures that every single handbuilt example will fit without issue. There can be no variances in routing, since packaging is so tight on the S4.
We had to tweak our jigs several times during prototyping to makes sure all possible obstructions on the car were accounted for. Since there are so many obstructions, it is not a simple case of running a tube from point A to point B.
Too many fabricators rush their jigging, and since the products are handbuilt, variations in build can lead to interference issues once on the car.
Even though the jig may ensure that the downpipe starts and ends at the exact same spot each time, if there is even a .25" variance in the tubing while going from start point to end point, all of a sudden you'll have a set of downpipes that rub during usage. Remember that the whole drivetrain will shift during acceleration and decelleration, along with the downpipes.
The bottom line is that we have spent so much time ensuring proper fitment of the S4 downpipes that you do not have to worry about fitment issues with this labor intensive install.<ul><li><a href="http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/shared/part_detail.cfm?PMaI=1&PMoI=4&PEI=6&PP=s4_27t_exha ust.cfm&PPT=Exhaust&IL=AWESflo_DP">AWE Tuning S4 Downpipes</a></li></ul>
