Default Local race shop here charges ~$100 to align your car to your requested specs.

It's run by a bunch of local SCCA racers.

That would be nice! Probably can't find that everywhere, though.

Default No problemo!

although 2-2.5hours @ $75/hour isn't bad either.

Default That's ambitious!

A few of the guys at the Elkhart Lake event I just attended were talking about having done this...

For what it's worth, having never really pushed my car in any capacity before and never having driven anything on a racetrack before, I thought my little S4 handled quite well! Granted, being a "rookie" , I doubt I ever exceeded 80% of the car's potential, but it's a 00 with 70K "grandma driving" miles on it - no shakes, no shimmies, no strange noises - felt very balanced and controlled. I'd love to see just what a difference there is in a balanced car.

I wish I could make it to your track event, but I'm all out of vacation for the year. Do a nice writeup, and I'll try to make it next year!

Careful with the ride height. Needs to be low at the front relative to the back or you will get lift

Default Diagonals. LF + RR vs. RF + LR.

As you increase the load on one corner it will increase the load on that diagonal and decrease it on the other diagonal. Put more weight on the LF and the RR will also go up. Both the RF and LR weight will go down.

That's exactly what happened to me when I got corner balanced - lower in back.

Lift? You mean at high speeds because of aerodynamics? Is that relevant for the track though?

Default That depends on the track.

At the Nürburgring there is a jump that I take at 250 km/h as well as a bunch of fast corners so then it would. There are a few tracks in the USA that have sweeping high-speed corners so it would be critical there too.

I'd be more concerned about emergency lane changes on the road though. Above 100 MPH it would make some difference. Faster and it starts making a big difference.
