the dealer wants me to buy a new left turbo when they put in the right. Shouldn't that be covered under the warranty? Don't you have to replace both when one goes? I asked about replacing them with ko4s and the only comment was I would have to pay the difference.... I thought they were almost the same price, even a little less. Has anyone used the dealer in this kind of situation or should I pull my car out and bring it some place that can do the warranty work? Does it make a difference to the warranty if I go with ko3 or ko4 turbos?? Oh...the dealer tried telling me my car was chipped. It's been stock since day one!

They replaced your ko3s and then you went with ko4s after that?

If they give you BS saying it is chipped, tell them to prove it.

I did, but they said if they opened the ECU to check, that would void my warranty.

Default do a search for "self study guide" - it is printed in Audi's own literature that the turbos NEED....

TO BE REPLACED IN PAIRS.

This happened to me a long time ago. I e-mailed a copy of the self study guide to the stealership and they replaced both.
